Technology - A Boon or Bane

Overview

  1. Skit: A creative expression of strong and convincing communication of a message most interestingly and dramatically in the short time and simple form.
  2. Competition: Presentation strictly not exceeding 8 minutes with an additional twominute maximum for entry, set-up, and exit. The number of persons involved could be as per the requirement.
  3. As the right application of technological achievements in every field of knowledge is fundamental for a prosperous, healthy, and peaceful life. The wrong side of it can bring disaster and social strife. Half knowledge, ignorance, and willful misuse for vested interests have already demonstrated how detrimental it could be in all aspects of life; Environmental, food and water, communication, etc.
  4. 5 participants are required per team.

Round 1

  1. YouTube entries by Google forms before the last date of submission.
  2. Top 10 teams will be selected for the Final Offline Round.

Final Round

  1. It will be conducted in Offline mode.

Topics

  1. Impact of AI on society.
  2. The future of space exploration.
  3. The impact of social media on society.
  4. Potential blockchain in future.
  5. Impact of technology on privacy.

Rules

  1. The skit can be played in either English/Hindi/Gujarati or a combination of all the three languages.
  2. This competition is open to students from Undergraduate technical students of any branch and any college/ institute in Gujarat.
  3. The duration of the skit should not exceed 8 minutes.
  4. Two additional minutes will be allowed for the introduction.
  5. Total time should not exceed 10 mins. Videos of time duration longer than 10 mins will be primarily rejected without notice.
  6. A recorded video of the skit should be uploaded to YouTube and the link should be provided using the submission link on or before 17:00, 7th May 2023 (IST). The online form will not accept entries after this deadline.
  7. Video clips sent by email or WhatsApp will be rejected without notice.
  8. Please ensure that the video of your skit has clear video and audio quality. If the audio/video quality is bad, the judges may not be in a position to evaluate your skit properly.
  9. The identity of the participant will be verified before the beginning of the competition. They should be ready with their College / Institute ID with a photo.
  10. Top 10 teams will be selected for the Final Offline and evaluated by a panel of NTD2023 judges to select the three prize-winning skits.
  11. A group of judges will judge the skit with a specifically prepared point-based scorecard.
  12. Cash prizes for the first three groups and Certificates to individual participants will be given.
  13. The decision of the NTD-2023 judges for this competition will be final and binding and no queries regarding this will be entertained.
